How about a Garden Pond?

Personally, no back yard is complete without a pond or water feature. No matter how small your backyard is, it is never too small to hold a pond or water feature. You even can put a water feature on a small back porch, patio, or balcony when you are in an apartment or rental.

Personally I have a larger fenced backyard and I decided several years ago to have a 500+ gallon pond with a waterfall.

Now, not everybody will be as crazy as I am and start drawing an outline on the grass and start digging with a shovel to create a big backyard pond as I did, but there are many smaller kit options out there you can reasonable purchase. You still might have to dig a hole to make things work, unless you buy some of the above ground water features you just take out of the box, fill with water, and plug them in.

In late winter or early spring, many communities have their flower and patio shows where you can speak with different designers and get some ideas on what to do. They will give you some ideas to use to create your water feature. Many times you may have had your mind on one particular feature, and you end up with different one, or several.
