Be ready for change and possible compromise.

This becomes especially true when you consider tying the knot and taking a relationship to the next level and commit for life to one person.

Tying the knot is a totally different ball game compared to the dating game. Many of us already have established ourselves through work, friends, and family and many times we have things that we do on a regular basis.

Some examples are that your Holidays may be spent with your family. In June you might go on a 4 weeks vacation and over the winter you might go south for a few days to escape the cold. By adding your new life partner to the mix, both of you have to adjust to a new normal you are creating.

I see this many times when both plan to buy a home together for the first time. One wants a ranch with 3 bedrooms, 3 full bath and a 4 car garage but the other would love to have a 2 story with 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, basement and would be fine with a 3 car garage.

Many times the house will be a mix of both.
