Retirees become their own chief investment officers

I have been watching this trend slowly but surely emerging and peeking around the trees and lurking in the shadows for many years. I think 2015 is when the rest of the financial and real estate industry will see a huge influx of individual self- driven IRA buyers stepping into the buying market.

It is not surprising, and I have seen it personally, many of the investors who now have a self-driven IRA came from the traditional investment market and may have been turned off by self-driven financial advisors who listen but did not pay attention to their clients concerns.

Some of the self-driven IRA holders have deep pockets, and when they invested only 5% is into real estate, that would be a huge influx of money coming into the market. Many of the IRA investors are not in the market to manage their own investment properties, but are looking to buy large and have the means to farm out the management of their investments to others.
