Reading through my email notifications, I came across a publication that compares the performance of pictures, videos, links, or plain text, within social media.
With the algorithm change and FB pushing more and more towards the usage of video, the results did not come to a huge surprise to me. The post with a video was much better than a post with a picture.
Per the article, the data covered 4,445 Brand pages and more than 670,000 posts between October 2014 and February 2015. You can read the article right here: http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-photos-worst-for-organic-reach-socialbakers-video-text-2015-2#ixzz3RwfNtZve
Per the Social Bakers data, a post with a picture reached an average of 3.7% (3-4 out of 100) of the targeted audience compared to videos, which reached 8.7% of the targeted audience. Links reached 5.3% and text reached 5.8%.
So when you would like to reach more customers and clients who open and read your post on social media, create a video and you will have a greater success. When a video is not something you have time to make, just a quality written post with a link to what you would like to share will get you more results compared to a picture alone.
